John L. Hyatt, Sr.

John L. Hyatt, Sr., 71, formerly of Fawn Grove, died on Sat., December 30, 2023. He was the husband of the late Mary Ellen Hyatt with whom he shared 42 years of marriage prior to her passing in 2015.

Born on July 5, 1952, in Baltimore, MD, he was a son of the late Alvin L. and Zora G. (Lytle) Hyatt. He was a graduate of Kenwood High School, Class of 1971. He worked as a maintenance engineer for Baltimore County School Systems and retired in 2007, after 30 years of service. His favorite hobbies include tractor racing, woodworking, making bird houses, and working on vehicles. He also had a love for birds.

He is survived by his children, John L. Hyatt, Jr. and his wife, Carissa, Tina Gray and her husband, Jason and Jason Hyatt and his wife, Lauren; two grandchildren, Constance Hyatt and Zachery Hyatt; great granddaughter Georgia May Stumbaugh; three sisters, G. Lorraine Briggs, Marcia L. Horne and Vicky S. Gentile.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers, Delmar A. Hyatt and Jackie A. Hyatt and a sister, Mary A. Hyatt.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown, PA 17363. Inurnment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
