John P. Rorke

John Patrick Rorke, 82, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2024. He was the loving husband of S. Lee (King) Rorke, they shared 39 years of marriage. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, John was the son of the late John James and Bridget “Bridie” (Murphy) Rorke.

John served in the U.S. Marines during the Cuban Missile Crisis from 1960-1964. He was employed and retired as a Lieutenant from the Baltimore City Police Department after 20 years. He also worked as an investigator for Maryland Racing Commission and later with police security at Johns Hopkins University.

John loved being surrounded by his family.

In addition to his wife Lee, he is survived by his five children Bryan (Tina), David (Leif), Heather, Brandon (Tyra), and Rachel (Ronnie); his previous wife Linda, brother-in-law Jack; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and one on the way.

Funeral Liturgy will take place on Saturday, May 25, 2024, 11:00a.m., at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 315 N. Constitution Ave, New Freedom, PA 17349.

Interment will be private and at the convenience of his family.
