John Walter Spoonhour

John W. Spoonhour, Sr., 62, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 21, 2022. He was the loving husband of Valerie (McGee) Spoonhour and they celebrated 32 years of marriage in July 2021. Born in Wilmington, DE, John was the son of the late John and Nancy (Hasenei) Spoonhour. He was the Director of Maintenance at ProMedica Skilled Nursing & Rehab in Dallastown. John was a member of the Stewartstown Baptist Church. John was a devoted father, husband, and grandfather. He enjoyed leading the Stewartstown Baptist Church in worship every Sunday. John’s happiest place was to be at the beach with his family. Surviving in addition to his wife are two children, Richard S. Spoonhour and his wife, Elizabeth, of Glenville and Jennie Randle and her husband, Logan, of Shrewsbury; 4 grandchildren; and two sisters, Patricia Mazzamuto and her husband, Rosario, of Red Lion, and Lois Knight and her husband, Russell, of Rehoboth Beach, DE. John was preceded in death by his son, John Spoonhour Jr., and a sister, Cynthia Spoonhour. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a viewing from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25, and from 9-10 am on Thursday, May 26 at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown, PA 17363. There will be a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 26 at the funeral home with Pastor Timothy Parker and Brother Michael W. Stello officiating.
