Joseph Ferdinand "Ferd" Driver

Joseph “Ferd” Ferdinand Driver, Jr., 88, of York, PA, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2025. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years Thelma V. Driver in 2019, his parents Joseph F. Driver, Sr. and Ella (Hill) Driver and his brother Donald Driver.

He graduated from Kenwood High School and received his master’s degree from Towson State University. He worked as a physical education teach for Baltimore County Public Schools.

He was a member of the Charity Lodge in Freeland, Md., and the Antique Automobile Club of Maryland.

Ferd is survived by his sons Joe Driver and his wife Rebecca and Steve Driver and his wife Lisa; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and numerous family and friends.

A visitation will be held at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc. 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, Pa on Saturday May 10, 2025, from 10:00 – 11:00AM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dennis Schulze officiating. Interment will be private.
