Joseph Farber, Jr., 75, of Spring Grove, died Wednesday, November 23, 2016. He was the loving husband of Mary B. (DeSocio) Farber and they celebrated 34 years of marriage in March of 2016. Joe was born in Carbondale, PA, a son of the late Joseph Farber, Sr. and Carmelita (Cerra) Farber. A graduate of Villanova University, he was a territory manager for Jockey International Inc. for over 35 years, covering Baltimore, Washington DC, and the Eastern Shore.He was an avid sports enthusiast and loved his family, especially the grandchildren. Joe's love extended from his family to sports to his country, which was evident by his six years of service in the Army National Guard. Surviving in addition to his wife are three children, Scott D. (Jamie L.) Farber, Michael C. (Danielle G.) Farber, and Jessica M. (Nicholas C.) Ey; 6 grandchildren, Marisa B., Maia R. and Michael M.J. Farber; Mason N. and Madison E. Ey, and Ian S. Farber, and a granddaughter that preceded him in death, Bryanna M. Ey; two siblings, Charles (Elaine) Farber and Mary (Robert) Kissinger. There will be a viewing Monday, November 28, 2016, from 5-8 pm at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, PA 17349, as well as Tuesday morning from 9-10 am. There will be a funeral liturgy at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 315 N. Constitution Ave., New Freedom, on Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at 11 AM. Military honors will be rendered by the York County Veterans Honor Guard at the church following the funeral liturgy.
