Joseph John Posedenti, Jr., age 86, of Freeland, MD, passed away on November 23, 2022. Joseph was born on October 24, 1936, in Baltimore, MD to the late Joseph and Helen (Marston) Posedenti, Sr., Joseph was the loving husband of 64 years to Gail (Sprucebank) Posedenti.
Joe worked as a Machine Setter for Western Electric Telephone Company for over 30 years in addition to owning and operating Joe’s Tavern in Remmington, MD. Joe took over the family business at a young age and loved serving his neighborhood. Joe was one of the founder’s of the Baltimore Boys of Summer Club, which benefited Wounded Warriors. He enjoyed Golf and was a member of the Par Busters Club, and social member of several American Legion’s and VFW’s in Baltimore and Pennsylvania. He was the founder of the Oak Stag Social Club. Joe was voted “Unsung Hero” at Calvert Hall College High School, where he excelled as a Baseball Star. He loved Baseball and was an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles, where he was inducted into the Old Timers Baseball Hall of Fame at Camden Yards, and a plaque hangs in his name. Joe loved everything Baltimore and enjoyed rooting for the Baltimore Colt’s and Raven’s Football teams. He loved to spend time woodworking, mowing, and enjoying the birds and peace and quiet that the country life provided. He was the best friend that anyone could ever have. Joe especially loved story telling and spending time with his wife and children, he was a fun dad, with a great sense of humor. Joe had more friends than can be counted and will be missed by all that knew him.
Joe is survived by his adoring wife, Gail S. Posedenti; dear children, Steven J. Posedenti, Sr., and Sharon J. Heater (Chuck); grandchildren, Shannon Sharp (Evan), Garrett J. Posedenti, Jared M. Posedenti, and Shelby Heater; siblings, Eleanor “Boots” Balzano, Barbara Kilduff, Nancy Wright and Earl James Posedenti, Sr.; he was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; Joe was preceded in death by his son, Scott J. Posedenti; grandson, Steven J. Posedenti, Jr., and granddaughter, Bailey R. Heater.
