Joshua “Josh” Jordan Schlappich, 28, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018. Born on May 23, 1989 at Andrews Air Force Base in Prince George’s County, MD, Josh was the beloved son of David Alan and Mercy (Gimenez) Schlappich of Stewartstown. In addition to his parents, Josh is survived by four siblings; a sister, Stephanie Campbell and her husband, Travis and their children, Dakota, Ainsley, Caden, and Zachary, all of Las Vegas, NV; 3 brothers, Randall Schlappich of Red Lion, Timothy Schlappich and his wife, Brianna of Bellevue, NE, Ryan Schlappich of Red Lion; paternal grandmother, Rosemary J. Schlappich of West Lawn, PA; uncle, Darren Schlappich and his wife, Jen Lindsay-Schlappich; uncle, Ernesto Gimenez; aunts, Velma Gimenez, Aida Abastillas, Marites Gimenez, Virginia Catacutan; great aunt, Gina Schlappich and cousins, Eli & Hayden Schlappich. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Dennis L. Schlappich in 2007; and maternal grandparents, Antonia and Gregorio Gimenez in 1984. Josh graduated from Kennard-Dale High School, Class of 2007. He worked for TMI Striping in New Freedom and then, worked as a hardwood floor installer in Delta. Josh had a passion for skateboarding, he was sponsored by Charm City Skate Shop and VU’ Skate Shop in Baltimore, MD, where he made a big impact in York and Baltimore scene. He had a love for fishing and drawing. Josh was also a great athlete, excelling in sports like, soccer, wrestling and track and field, where he won many tournaments. There will be a viewing on Friday, March 2, 2018 from 7:00-9:00 pm at 24 N. SECOND STREET, NEW FREEDOM, PA 17349. and on Saturday, March 3, 2018 from 10:30 -11:30 am at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 19 S. Main St, Stewartstown, PA . A service to honor of Josh’s memory will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at 11:30 am, at the funeral home in Stewartstown.
