Joyce A. Claypoole

Joyce A. Claypoole, 83, passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2020. She was the loving wife of the late George W. Claypoole Jr. who died March 21, 1966. Born in Seven Mile Ford, Virginia, Joyce was the daughter of the late Claud J.H. and Mirl L. (Peak) Claypoole. She was an avid reader, a quick wit, and a very social person who cared for many people in her life. She was very giving, putting aside her needsfor others and loved by many. Joyce loved to eat and ice cream and Doritos were a staple for her. Joyce never drove, yet raised four children after her husband passed away at a young age. Surviving are four children, Sandra Clark and her husband, Jeffrey of Fawn Grove, George Claypoole III of Sykesville, Md., Gary Claypoole and his wife, Mary of Hanover, and Joann Claypoole of Fawn Grove; 4 siblings, Donald Riley and his wife, Kathy, Robert Riley and his wife, Candace, Sharon Loghran, and William Riley and his wife, Hillary; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Gary W. Wolfgram and three siblings, an infant brother, Kenneth Riley and Helen Kruger. Services and interment are private and at the convenience of her family. Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc. is assisting the family with the arrangements.
