Joye E. Schuchart

On April 17, after a six month journey with cancer, Joye, 89 of New Freedom, PA, closed her eyes on earth and opened them in heaven to behold the face of Jesus. We celebrate the faith, grace, courage and strength Joye revealed and we treasure every memory and moment we spent with her. She was aptly named Joye and was a joy to know. Born in Hungerford, PA in July 1931, Joye was the first born daughter of the late Thomas and Annie Rehmeyer. She leaves her children; Wayne, Sandy, Sheila, Alissa and Steven, as well as sisters; Betty, Janet and Faye. Joye will also be missed by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, Marvin (1985) and siblings; Ruth, Lila and Earl (Buck). She loved flowers, gardening, bird watching and family crab feasts. Spending time with family and friends meant the most to her. Joye’s life was celebrated while she was with us and and also with a private, in-home viewing. A private burial service will also be held. She will be remembered and missed by many. Joye and her family express their thanks for the kindness of Hospice caregivers.
