Judith A. Jacoby, 82, of Glenville, passed away suddenly on February 14, 2024. Born in Hanover, she was the daughter to the late Ralph and Louise (Crawford) Sanders. She was the loving and devoted wife to Thomas Jacoby, who shared 62 years of marriage before he passed in 2021.
In Judy’s early life occupation, she was a laborer for Yazoo Mills, and later worked as a postal worker at Shrewsbury and New Freedom Post Offices, and a Postmaster at Railroad Post Office until retirement. She had a faith-filled life, often consoling those in grief and assisting just about anyone even with the many sad experiences she encountered in her 82 years of life. She considered her most important journey in life being a wife and mother, and grandmother, devoted, steadfast and always there to assist in trials and tribulations as well as joyful celebrations and life-changing events. Christmas, being her most favorite time of the year, nothing could compare to family Christmas gatherings and gift giving. There was always an abundance of food including baked goodies for family as well as neighbors, friends, and those less fortunate. An excellent cook and baker, she was known very well in her area for lending a hand and feeding a friend. Being a very, very thrifty shopper over the years, she always had a little something for every occasion for almost everyone she would encounter. In her early married life, she and Tom participated for several years with numerous talented country bands as singers in the area while raising their four boys. After retirement, Judy and Tom frequented area “car shows” with Judy taking care of inside and outside “fixups” for their 1940 Chevy Sedan street rod that won well over 100 awards. They were very proud of their Chevy and their sidekicks Walter and Peanut. Devoted to family, displaying acts of kindness, speaking her mind when she felt it necessary, and giving her words of wisdom will truly be missed.
Judy was survived by her son Terry Jacoby and wife Dawn; Siblings – Jim Sanders & wife Viola, John Sanders & wife Rosie, Donnie Sanders & wife Linda, Diane Groft & husband Allen “Gomer”, Sharon Wilt and daughters in law Vicki Jacoby and Rosemary Jacoby; 9 Grandchildren; 22 Great grandchildren; 1 Great-great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three loving sons, Randy Jacoby, William Jacoby, and Christopher Jacoby; one sibling, Louis Sanders and one nephew, Mark Sanders, along with her husband and parents.
