Julia Elizabeth Simmont

Julia Elizabeth Simmont, 76, of Railroad, PA passed away Thursday, February 15, 2024. Born in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter to the late Howard and Mildred Ritenour.

Julia enjoyed making ceramics and was a member at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in New Freedom, PA. Mostly she loved and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Julia is remembered and survived by her husband Ronnie; two children, Zina Ambrose (Calvin Ambrose, Jr.) and David Fitzpatrick (Ellen Spicer); six grandchildren, David Fitzpatrick III, Jazzmin Ambrose, Calvin Ambrose III, Crystal Ambrose, Amber Fitzpatrick, Cody Fitzpatrick; five great grandchildren, Charlie, Logan, Evan, Rilynn, Charli; sister, Grace Ellis; and a niece, Penny (Roland). Julia was preceded in death by her grandson, Josh Ambrose; and four siblings, in addition to her parents.

There will be a public viewing from 6 – 8 pm, Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, PA 17349. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at 11 AM. Interment will immediately follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.
