With Heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Karen A. Jones (nee Grove), of Shrewsbury, PA on June 19, 2022, the beloved mother of Nicole Jones Reed, Brett Daniel Jones, and stepson, Harold Jones, Jr. Karen is survived by her children; a son in law, Joe Reed; a step grand-daughter, Victoria, two cherished grandsons, Parker and Simeon; siblings, Barbara Broussard, William Grove, Lorrie Sweeney, Larry Grove, and their spouses; numerous nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. Karen was pre-deceased by her husband, Harold Jones, Sr., father, James D. Grove, mother, Lela M. Grove, sister, Donna L. Meredith, stepdaughter, Karen B. King, step-granddaughter, Hannah King, and step-grandson, Chadd Shortt. Born on November 3rd, 1963, she grew up in Shawsville, Harford County, MD and graduated from North Harford High School. She was a 29 year employee of Hollins Organic Products, on Falls Rd. in Baltimore, MD, where she was currently employed. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, the Light, Love, and Pride of her life, as well as, with her family and good friends (Like family) from the “Hodel” in New Freedom, PA. She enjoyed making people laugh and should have been known as the, “Queen of Wise Cracks and One Liners”, she had a quick wit from which, no one was safe. A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 30th, from 5:00 pm-6:00 pm at the New Freedom Community Center, 150 E. Main St., New Freedom, PA ,17349. A Celebration of Life will begin at 6:00 pm and all guests are invited to stay after the service for a pot luck meal.
