Kathleen Mcconnell

Kathleen Dorothy McConnell, 76, of Chambersburg, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2024. Born in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter to the late William and Regina (Zacharko) Schisler. She was the beloved wife to Michael McConnell, with whom she has shared 13 years of marriage.

Kathleen was an exceptionally talented artist with a concentration on realism in wildlife, as well as still life. Her artistic abilities extended beyond her paintings, as she exercised her talent in sewing, floristry, and home decoration. She lived life with a truly artistic touch. Kathleen enjoyed many hobbies, gardening, traveling, skiing, kayaking, fishing off her father’s boat the “Hang loose”. Above all, Kathleen held family in highest regard. People describe Kathleen as kind, nonjudgmental, listening quietly to help anyone through the hardest of times. An endearing soul who will forever remain in the thoughts of those who knew her.

In addition to her husband, Michael, Kathleen is survived by 2 children, Shannon Marshall (John Logana) and Thomas Marshall; a step-daughter, Madelyn (Steve) McConnell; 2 grandchildren, Alexander Marshall and Finley McConnell; 4 siblings, William Schisler (Ruth), Dianna Hambleton (Todd), Margie Hajiantoni (Pete), and Jerry Schisler; along with many nieces and nephews. Kathleen was preceded in death by 2 siblings, David Schisler (Nancy) and John Schisler (Mary), and her parents.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2024, from 1:00-2:30pm at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc. 19 S. Main St, Stewartstown, PA 17363. A funeral service will begin at 2:30pm at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
