Kathleen Louise Whye

Kathleen Louise (née McMaster) Whye, age 100, passed peacefully at SpiriTrust Lutheran, York on Thursday, May 18, 2023. She was the loving wife of the late Mervin C. Whye who passed on May 8, 1972. Born in East Berlin, PA, Kathleen was the daughter of the late Paul and Lillie Mae Rudisill McMaster. She had worked as a seamstress for many years at the York-Hoover Casket Company.  She liked to sew, knit, crochet, and cross stitch. She attended the Bible Baptist Church in York.

She leaves 2 daughters, Treva Burdge of York and her companion, Bob Taylor of Manchester, PA, and Eileen Nace and her husband, Clarence of Glen Rock; two grandchildren, Keith McMillion and David Litz of York; five great grandchildren, Jessica Leas, Jennifer Thomas, Britney and Jackie Lee Litz and Aaron McMillion, all from York; and four great great grandchildren, Aliyah, Brayden, and Jorden Thomas, and Ava Leas, all of York; one granddog, Sofia and one grandcat, Missy Kitty. She was preceded in death by brothers, Vernon, Alvin and Paul McMaster, three sisters, Evelyn Dettinger, Helen Musselman and Gloria Godden.

Kathleen requested no viewing. Burial will be private and at the convenience of her family. Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. 2nd St., New Freedom, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
