Kathryn Louise "Kas" Shirey

Kathryn (Kas) Louise Shirey, 96, passed away January 13, 2018 at York Hospital and was carried to Heaven in the arms of her Lord and Savior. Born in York, Kas was a daughter of the late Curvin S. and Mary (Floyd) Shirey. She was one of 10 children and spent her life serving and giving to others until she was no longer able to do so. Her family meant everything to her and every sibling, niece, and nephew held a special place in her heart. Kas's former employers were Amp, Inc. and the American Insulator of New Freedom where she was a press operator and worked for over 40 years until its closing. She is survived by sister, Dorothy LaMotte; 17 nieces and nephews. Kas was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters; four brothers; two nieces; three nephews; and her companion of 50 years, Clair Wineholt. At Kathryn's request there will be no services. Memorial contributions may be given to your favorite charity in Kathryn's name.
