Kathryn May Murrow, 81, of Shrewsbury, PA, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2024. Born in Millers, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Dorothy Wildisin. She was the wife of the late Floyd “Max” Murrow whom they shared 54 years of marriage at the time of his passing in February 2015.
Kathryn loved to bake. She would make her infamous brownies and fudge for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was known to her grandchildren by ‘ornery’ or ‘granny’. Kathryn loved the beach and greatly enjoyed their family trips to Ocean City. She also loved planting flowers, the color blue, and pineapples, which you could find all over her kitchen. Above all, Kathryn was very much family oriented, spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Kathryn is survived by four grandchildren, Amber Thomas, Abby Furst, Alexa Peters, and Alana Peters; and 13 great-grandchildren, Tyler, Sofia, Shane, Camden, Rylan, Micheal, Alaric, Gunner, Lincoln, Benjamin, Sonny, Mason, and Kade. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Murrow in 2015; and two daughter, Shelley Peters, and Shari Smoot.
A funeral service will be held at the family’s convenience. Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, PA 17349 is assisting the family with arrangements.
