Lacy L. Price, Sr.

Lacy L. Price Sr., 87, passed away with his family by his side on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at York Hospital. Born in Damascus, Virginia, he was a son to the late Sherman and Alice (Reed) Price. He was the loving husband of 67 years to Patsy A. (Cox) Price.

Lacy worked for over 40 years at G. Edgar Harr & Sons when he retired in 2002. His favorite pastime was fishing. He enjoyed playing the guitar; growing up, his family was very musically inclined, and they would often play different instruments together. In his later years he liked his word search books and his scratch offs. Lacy loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren, who affectionately knew him as Poppaw.

He is remembered by his wife, Patsy; two children, Kathy Meck, and Alice Teresa Price (Mark Sultzbaugh); daughter-in-law, Phyllis Price; 7 Grandchildren; 9 Great Grandchildren; and his sister Ruth Wade. Lacy was preceded in death by both his parents; son, Lacy L. Price, Jr.; son-in-law, Tony Meck; brother-in-law, J.B. Wade; 4 sisters and 7 brothers; and his cat Whitey.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family. Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, PA 17349 is assisting the family with arrangements.
