Larry E. Jones

Larry E. Jones, 72, of New Freedom, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 9, 2018. He was the husband of Sandra M. (McCullough) Jones with whom he married June 6, 1992, celebrating 26 years together. He was dearly loved by his family. Born in Freeland, MD, Larry was the son of the late Elwood and Edna (Hunt) Jones. Larry worked for the New Freedom Borough as a laborer. He was a life member of Rose Fire Dept. in New Freedom. He was a United States Navy Veteran serving from 1965-1969. In addition to his wife Sandra, he is survived by a daughter Sherrie L. Krebs and her husband Dwaine; 4 grandchildren, Dr. Sarah I. Krebs, Jordan E. Krebs, Wyatt S. Krebs and his wife Lauren, Grace A. Krebs; a sister Betty King and her husband Norman, a brother Ronnie Jones and his wife Freda, a sister in law Junie Jones and many nieces, nephews and cousins with whom he was loved by all. He was also preceded in death by a son Paul McBlain and a brother Norman Jones. Viewings will be held on Thursday, December 13th from 5:00- 9:00pm at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St. New Freedom, PA and on Friday, December 14th from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church; 175 E. Main St. New Freedom, PA. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at New Freedom Cemetery with military rites provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard.
