Larry S. ‘Poppy’ Kline Sr., 79, passed away Monday, August 2, 2021. He was the devoted husband of Cynthia R. (Brown) Kline and they celebrated 54 years of marriage on July 19, 2021. Born in Maryland, Larry was the son of the late Roy D. and Dora K. (Simms) Kline. Larry worked in the plastics industry, operating his own company, Harborcity Plastics in Abingdon, MD. He sold the business and was then a minority owner in Innovative Plastic Solutions. Larry spent many years with the Hereford Volunteer Fire Company. Larry loved going to car shows with his 66 Chevy Impala, fishing, sitting in the garage, listening to country music, and spending time with his family. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Surviving in addition to his wife are three children, Robert S. Aikens of Balt., MD, Lori Aikens and her spouse, Tracey Nolan Aikens of Balt., MD, and Larry Stewart Kline Jr. and his spouse, Wendy of York; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and four siblings, Rosalie, Betty, Shirley, and Benson. There will be a public viewing from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, August 5, at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. 2nd St., New Freedom, PA 17349 and on Friday, August 6, from 10 - 11 a.m. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home celebrating Larry’s life.
