Larry D. Kunkle, 74, of Stewartstown passed away suddenly on March 27, 2021. Born in York on June 16, 1946, he was the son of the late J. Dean and Kathryn (Manifold) Kunkle and brother of the late Jean K. Gemmill. Larry was the husband of Lori R. (Keech) Kunkle of Stewartstown, whom he married on December 19, 1987, and the loving father of Lesli R. Kunkle of Red Lion. He will also be missed by his beloved sidekick, Molli. Larry was the owner of Kunkle’s Lawn Kare and was honored to serve Southern York County and Northern Maryland areas for 60 years. He spent many hours enhancing his community by means of specialty lawn care & landscaping, snow removal, maintaining and caregiving to several local cemeteries. He was a graduate of Kennard-Dale High School, Class of 1964 and a member of Stewartstown Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the United States Auto Club Racing Team; serving as an observer for 22 years at the Indianapolis 500 and various other races throughout the country. Most importantly, Larry cherished every opportunity he was given to spend time with his family and visits to the shore. A viewing will be held on Friday, April 2, 2021 from 1:00 – 2:00 pm at Stewartstown Presbyterian Church; 16 College Ave., Stewartstown, PA 17363. A funeral service will begin at 2:00pm on Friday at the church. Interment in Round Hill Cemetery with follow the service. If attending, please wear a mask and social distance as necessary. In lieu of flowers, to honor Larry’s love for his community, the family asks that memorial contributions in Larry’s memory be made to: Eureka Volunteer Fire & Ambulance Company; 82 N Main St, Stewartstown, PA 17363.
