Leroy Frank Cooper, 87, passed from this life on Monday, November 28, 2022. He was the devoted husband of the late Joyce Bernice (Fine) Cooper who passed in October of 2014. Born in Burnsville, NC, Leroy was the son of the late Troy Lee and Sarah (Edwards) Cooper. Leroy proudly served in the U.S. Army as Military Police and was discharged on March 31, 1964. He retired in 2001 from Leaseway Auto Carriers, Baltimore, after 40 years of service. He was a member of Teamsters Local #557. Leroy was an avid NASCAR fan. Every Sunday you could find him watching the race. He also loved to garden planting flowers and trees. Surviving are two children, Mark L. Cooper and his wife, Patty of Stewartstown and Suzzett Faby and her husband, David, of Bel Air, Md.; a stepson, Wayne Godfrey of Stewartstown, and Ruth Ann Klos and her husband, Frank of Fork, Md.; 5 grandchildren; Ashleigh Cooper, Alyssa Cooper, David Faby, Amy Chowdhury, Daniel Faby and five great grandchildren Katelynn, Lucas, Sloan, Blake and Alice; a brother, Wayne Cooper of FL, and a sister, Nancy of Ashville, NC. Leroy was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Cooper. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a viewing from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Monday, December 5, at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 19 S. Main Street, Stewartstown, with a funeral service starting at 12 noon. Leroy will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife in Oak Lawn Cemetery, 7225 Eastern Avenue, Baltimore, Md. 21224-1998 immediately following the service.
