Lewis Daugherty, 88, of Shrewsbury passed on November 7, at Providence Place in Dover, PA surrounded by family. He was the loving husband of the late Jessie (Wilson) Daugherty. Lewis Daugherty was born in New Freedom, PA to Franklin and Annie (Shaffer) Daugherty. He graduated from New Freedom High School in 1948. He spent many years as a Plumber with RH Mowrey, a baker at the Glen Rock Steam Bakery, and a Bus Driver for Carl Caskey. Lewis enjoyed gardening, tractors and farming, hunting, and going to the mountains. Lewis is survived by his three children Linda Hess, Jolene Wayne, and Karl Daugherty and wife Diana; 5 grandchildren Brian and Scott Hess, Angela Wayne, Amy Blessing, and Denny Daugherty; 1 great-grandchild with another on the way. In addition to his late wife Jessie, Lewis is preceded in death by a granddaughter Alicia Daugherty and a brother Carroll Daugherty. A time of viewing and remembrance will occur between 7-9 PM on Sunday November 11 at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, PA. A funeral service will begin at 11 AM on Monday, November 12 at the funeral home with Rev. Duane Goodling officiating. Interment will follow at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Shrewsbury, PA.
