Linda F Smith

Linda Smith, 71, of New Park, fell asleep in the Lord at Lancaster General Hospital on Thursday November 21, 2019. She was the loving mother of Alesia Smith. Linda was born to Murray and Velma (Channell) Fleck in Baltimore, MD. She was a 5th-grade teacher at Red Lion Area School District for over 30 years. Linda was also an avid reader and a joy to be around. She frequented Ocean City, NJ and Williamsburg, VA for fun trips with family and friends. She will be missed dearly by her family, friends, students, and colleagues. Linda is survived by her daughter, Alesia Smith; and a cousin, Betty Hash. She was preceded in death by her parents. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday November 30 at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 19 S. Main Street, Stewartstown, PA 17363. A funeral service will start at 12 noon with Rev. Curtis Weber officiating. Interment will follow at Centre Presbyterian Cemetery in New Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Linda’s memory may be sent to The Franklin Institute at The Franklin Institute, Development Department, 222 North 20th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103 so that Linda can continue her legacy in education.
