Reverend Lois M. Hollingshead, 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior On Friday, February 16, 2018.There she joined her husband of 69 years, Luther Eugene “Gene” Hollingshead, Sr.; parents, Marvin Ray and Martha Ann (Heath) Hackler; her brothers, Marvin “Junior” and Sammy Hackler; sister, Shirley (Hackler) Melvina; along with a host of other family and friends that have gone before her.Her spirit will be carried on through her five children, Glenda Cherry and husband Richard, Joann Shipley and husband Fred, Luther Hollingshead, Jr. and wife Cindy, Peggy Warner and husband Dennis and Jimmy Hollingshead and wife Deb; brothers and sisters, Dorothy (Hackler) Jones, Pauline (Hackler) Heath, James Hackler and Dennis Hackler; and her 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Lois was born on June 2, 1928 in White Hall, MD.She was called into the ministry at 30 years of age and served the Lord for 59 years.She ministered alongside her husband, Gene, and they were pastors at Miracle Tabernacle in Yorkana, later opening Miracle Tabernacle Revival Center in York.As a pastor, her love to preach and teach Sunday School reached many and brought them to Christ.Lois touched the lives of everyone she came into contact with. Opening the Love Center in York, she furthered her ministry in helping the needy by offering free clothing and food to those in need.Lois also furthered her ministry by writing songs, having 2 books printed about prospering from the hand of God.Lois enjoyed singing, playing the guitar, cooking, studying and teaching the Bible.She was best known for her southern cooking and her loving and giving heart.In her last days, she was cared for by the angels at SpiriTrust Lutheran at Sprenkle Drive.Lois will be dearly missed by all who knew her.Her favorite scripture reads, “Beloved, I wish above all things, that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospers.” 3 John 1:2.Public viewing will be Tuesday, February 20 from 7pm to 9pm at Hartenstein Funeral and Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 21 at 10am.Interment will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, York.Rev. David R.
