Louis Victor Ensor

Louis Victor Ensor, “The Lawnmower Man”, passed away at his home on May 31, 2021. Victor is survived by his loving wife of almost 54 years, Brigid T. (Roarty) Ensor; dear daughters, Annette Ensor and her husband, Eric Webberking, of Fallston, MD and Marie Goodwin and her husband, Craig, of Perry Hall. Victor was born on February 26, 1934 in White Hall, Harford County, Maryland to the late John Lewis & Annie Lucille (Almony) Ensor. He was one of 3 children and is survived by his sister, Dorcas E. Shaeffer and her husband, Garry, of White Hall, MD and Richard Ensor and his wife, Dolores, of Arlington, VA. He grew up on his family dairy farm in White Hall, Maryland. The farm grew corn, small grain, and alfalfa Victor graduated from Sparks High School and in the early 1960’s, purchased a farm on Madonna Road and owned his own dairy herd. In addition, to working on his own farm, in his earlier years he worked for Mr. Harvey S. Ladew as a chauffeur and part time grounds keeper. Today the grounds are known as Ladew Topiary Gardens on Jarrettsville Pike, this is where his love of flowers and gardening took shape. Victor loved helping his church, West Liberty United Methodist with fund raisers, such as sub sales and offering his auctioneering abilities at their annual dinners. He was a respected elder at West Liberty and had many friends. Victor worked as a machinist at Caterpillar Tractor Co. in York, PA for over 30 years. Prior to retirement, He started a home lawn mower business which kept him busy until the age of 86, when he finally stopped working. He enjoyed helping people, repairing their mowers and even picking up their mowers, if they had no way of getting them to his shop. No wonder he loved to collect John Deere tractor Memorabilia! He enjoyed spending time with his two granddaughters, Lauren & Olivia Goodwin, and was very proud of their accomplishments. He loved to travel to Alaska, Niagara Falls and the Bahama’s, but Ireland was near and dear to his heart. He travelled to Donegal, Ireland a total of 32 amazing times to visit with his wife, Brigid’s, family and friends.In addition to travelling, he enjoyed outings with friends, Bull and Oyster Roasts, Going to Casino’s, Birthday Club Outings, Truck & Tractor Pulls, trap shooting,watching Western’s on TV, and playing cards with his family. He truly enjoyed Blue Grass and Irish music. At this time All Services are Private, but the family will be holding a Celebration of Life at a later date.
