M. Elaine (Bathurst) Arnold

M. Elaine (Bathurst) Arnold, 83, of Stewartstown passed away Saturday January 8, 2022 at her residence. She was the loving wife of the late James J. Arnold who passed away in 2019. Born in Bellwood, PA she was a daughter of the late Alfred P. and A. Marie (Williamson) Bathurst. Elaine worked for Bushman Forest Products in Monkton, MD as a secretary and retired in 1998. She was a 50+ year member of Cross Roads United Methodist Church where she was active with the food pantry, Sunday School Teacher, United Methodist Woman, and the Cross Roads UM Missions and following retirement worked as the church secretary for several years. She enjoyed traveling, knitting and gardening and her biggest love was spent hunting with her late husband. Elaine also owned her own beauty salon for over 12 years in Winterstown named 24 Beauty Bar. She is survived by two daughters Beth M. MacTavish (David Freed) and Kelly Jo Smith (Jerry Lee Smith, Jr.). Elaine preceded her sister Betty L. Skidmore in death by several hours on the same day. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 11AM from Cross Roads United Methodist Church, 6881 Church Rd., Felton, PA 17322 with Rev. Keith Schmuck officiating. Interment will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held from 9AM until the time of her service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Cross Roads United Methodist Mission Fund, 6881 Church Rd., Felton, PA 17322 in her memory.
