Margaret Elizabeth Linkous, 98, passed away on September 27 th , at her home in Lancaster, PA. She was the only child, born on October 17, 1923, in Fawn Grove, PA, to the late Clyde H. and Nellie (Allen) Stewart. Margaret was the loving wife of the late, Thomas Vernon Linkous, to whom she married on August 18 th , 1943.
Margaret worked for several years in accounting at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD. Being married to a 20 year military career husband, she became quite adept at moving the family every three years to a new duty location. They lived in Vero Beach, FL, St. Petersburg, FL, Hawaii, Newfoundland and Elizabeth City, NC. When they retired from the military, they made their home in St. Petersburg, FL and after nearly 40 years living there, she relocated back to Pennsylvania.
Margaret was a wonderful, caring mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her loving daughters, Margaret Ann Heibeck and her husband, Jay, of York, PA and Deborah Lynn Toomey and her husband, Peter of Charlotte, NC; 5 grandchildren, Phyllis Blanton, Nancy Trojak, Jessica Heibeck, Matthew Toomey and Lauren Toomey; Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Vernon Linkous and her daughter, Sue L. Blanton.
