Margaret Steward

Margaret Elizabeth Steward, 88, died Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016. She was the loving wife of the late Virgil J. Steward. There will be a public viewing from 9 to 11 am Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, at the Mason-Dixon Baptist Church, 713 Campbell Road, New Freedom, PA 17349, with the funeral service beginning at 11 am. Interment will follow in the Clynmalira Cemetery, Phoenix, MD. JJ Hartenstein Mortuary Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, PA 17349 is assisting the family with the arrangements. Margaret was born on May 9, 1928, in Monkton, a daughter of the late Henry Clinton Jones, Sr. and Phoebe L. (Pierce) Jones. She retired from Bell Atlantic. Margaret enjoyed playing BINGO, Sudoku, reading, traveling, and roller skating. Surviving are three children, Nancy S. Page, Helen D. (Louis) Phillips, and Donna J. (James) Turner; a brother, Harold E. (Dorothy) Jones, Sr.; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 7 siblings.
