Marguerite V. (Mays) Ensor, 88, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016, at her home. She was the wife of the late Charles E. Ensor, Sr. with whom she shared 54 years of marriage. Viewings will be held from 7 to 9 pm on Thurs., Feb. 4, and from 3 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 pm on Fri., Feb. 5 at the J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, and again from 11 am to 12 pm on Sat., Feb. 6 at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church, 2015 Mt. Carmel Rd., Parkton, Md. The funeral service will begin at 12 pm Saturday at the church with Pastor Fred Sipes officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends and family are invited to a reception at The Summit Manor Banquet Facility, 510 Monkton Rd. in Hereford, Md. following the service. Born May 5, 1927 in Parkton, Md., Marguerite was a daughter of the late Walter G. and E. Pearl (Nash) Mays. Formerly employed at Black and Decker in Towson and Hampstead, Md., she spent her later years as treasurer of her family’s farming operation, Cold Bottom Farms, Inc. Marguerite was a dedicated member of Cedar Grove United Methodist Church in Parkton where she served as Sunday school teacher of the nursery class for 18 years, was a choir member, former trustee, member of the finance and missionary committee, the parish relations committee and the United Methodist Women. She was also a former teacher’s assistant at Sparks Elementary School. Marguerite is survived by her children, Charles E. "Chuck" Ensor, Jr. and his wife, Mary Ann of Sparks, Md., and Carrie E. Kline and her husband, Samuel C. Kline of Virginia Beach, Va.; four grandchildren, Marcy Ann Franklin, Christy Ellen Copenhaver, and Andrew and Leigh Anne Kline; five great grandchildren; and sisters, Betty Lou Ensor of Parkton, Md. and E. Elaine DeMent of Upperco, Md. She was preceded in death by a son, Christopher E. Ensor and siblings Gladys L. Ensor, Walter G. Mays, Jr. and Ruth Ann Bull.
