Maria Helen Snodgrass

Maria H. Snodgrass, 87, of New Freedom passed away on Monday, October 4, 2021. She was born in Baltimore, MD, on February 6 1934 to the late Alexander J. and Helen T. (Jakubowski) Harla. Maria was the loving wife of the late Charles R. Stevens, Jr. who passed away in 1959 and the late Roger R. Snodgrass who passed away in 2004. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in New Freedom. Maria was employed for 20 years at Contracts & Accounting Division, the former Glen L. Martin, Co. in Middle River, MD; then with the Bureau of Naval Weapons in Glen Burnie, MD, retiring in 1970. Maria is survived by her son, Charles M. Stevens and Wonnita M. Stevens; two grandchildren, Michael R. Stevens and Matthew J. Stevens and his fiancée Kayla Meckley; granddaughter Ava M. Stevens and her mother Sarah Nevin; sister Sandra Maranto and her husband Joseph and their children Maria, Joseph and Anne. A Funeral Liturgy will be held Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 11:00 AM from St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 315 N. Constitution Ave., New Freedom. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. Services are entrusted to Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom.
