Marian G. Borys

Marian G. (Balcerak) Borys, 90, died on Friday, June 10, 2016 at SpiriTrust Lutheran, The Village at Shrewsbury, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Albert J. Borys, whom she married on October 5, 1949. Marian is also survived by her daughter, Cynthia B. Fickes, son-in-law, George Fickes; step-granddaughter, Kristen Fickes, her husband Kevin Weinberger, and their daughter Quinn; step-grandson David Fickes; brother-in-law, Walter Borys and his wife Barbara; sister-in-law Joanna Borys; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Marian was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Frank Balcerak, three sisters and five brothers. Viewings will be held on Wednesday, June 15, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom. A funeral liturgy will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 16, at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 315 N. Constitution Ave., New Freedom, with the Rev. Robert A. Yohe, Jr. officiating. Interment is in the church cemetery. The family wishes to sincerely thank the staff at Country Meadows of Leaders Heights, Grane Hospice, and SpiriTrust Hospice and Nursing Home for their compassionate care.
