Marian S. Freeman

Marian Smith Freeman, formerly of Stewartstown, died on April 1, 2018. She was the wife of Stephen R. Freeman to whom she married on June 16, 1968, they were together for 50 years. Mrs. Freeman was born in Baltimore, MD and was the daughter of the late Earl Smith and Christine Serio. She is survived by her husband, Stephen; and by two sons, Stephen Freeman and wife, Melissa of Hampstead, MD, and Kevin Freeman and wife, Rachel of Breckenridge, CO. Mrs. Freeman retired as an Early Childhood Teacher after 43 years of service. She taught kindergarten for four years at Baltimore City Schools, then worked at Trinity Lutheran for seven years, and later taught and was the Director at Seyco Pre-School for 32 years. She was a member of Stewartstown United Methodist Church for 25 years, where she was involved with Children’s Christian Ministries. She was a board member of the Mason Dixon Library, and a member of the Mason Dixon Business and Professional Women’s Association. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, April 7 at 11 a.m., at the Stewartstown United Methodist Church, 26 S. Main St., Stewartstown. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made in her memory to Stewartstown United Methodist Church, Children’s Christian Ministry, PO Box 398, Stewartstown, PA 17363. Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc. is assisting the family with services.
