Mark R Winkler

Mark R. Winkler, 56, of Freeland passed away Friday, January 18, 2019 at Gilchrist Hospice Center in Towson. He was the longtime companion of Sandra A. Allen with whom he shared over 30 years. Born in York he was a son of the late Leonard J. Winkler, Sr. and Shirley M. (Venzke) Winkler. Mark was a mechanic and enjoyed farming, fishing, rebuilding cars and riding his ATV. He was a hard worker, strong-willed and always helped others. Mark enjoyed watching John Wayne movies and was known as a jokester. He will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his companion Sandra, he is survived by a son Drew Allen; two grandchildren William Allen and Cadence Carillo-Allen; two sisters Cheryl Winkler and Amy, wife of Robert Miller; two nephews William and Joseph Miller and two nieces Taylor White and Sarah Smith.Mark was preceded in death by a brother Leonard J. Winkler, Jr. and a sister Kathleen Winkler. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 11AM from Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St. New Freedom. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery. A viewing will be held Friday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the funeral home.
