She embraced and loved her family dearly and is survived by her loving husband, Robert Cahoon; daughter, Lisa Jackson (given up for adoption at birth but reunited with after 30 years); her cherished son and the steadfast rock she leaned on, Jay Slagle, and his wife, Amy; stepchildren, Kim Cahoon, David Cahoon, and Doti Warner and her husband Paul; three sisters, Ruth Ferguson, Betty Niehenke, and Pat Talkington; nine grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Despite many heartbreaks, Mary's resolute spirit remained steadfast, teaching everyone she knew the power of perseverance in the face of life's trials. She weathered the painful loss of her dear son, Wesley Donaldson; four sisters, Marie Smith, Loretta Burress, Mae Thompson, Pearl Six; and her two brothers Danny Blevins and Bill Blevins.
