Mary Ellen Hollingshead (nee Meo) passed away peacefully on June 23rd, surrounded by her loving family. She was the adoring wife of 31 years to Gary A. Hollingshead.She was born on March 15, 1956 to the late Vincent and Ellie Meo (nee Bruce). Mary worked many different jobs over the years, which included manager of “The Shop”, Little Italy, in Shrewsbury, PA, video shop manager, aerobics instructor, but most importantly, stay at home mom.She loved the Washington Redskins and listened to different types of music, such as, the Beatles and AC/DC. In her younger years, Mary loved being a majorette and doing gymnastics. She had a love of writing and had a poem published by Walt Disney. She entered a local contest for writing an episode of Seinfeld, which she won. She was an amazing person who was involved in helping at the Shrewsbury food pantry and even saved the life of a young boy from drowning.She was quick witted, funny, loved to cook, and always wanted a house full of kids. Her home had a revolving door, where everyone was welcome. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her adoring children; Jessica Batzer, Melissa Trout (Chris), Ryan Gwaltney (Morgan) and Mikala Hollingshead; her dear grandsons, Ethan Batzer and Sutton Trout; loving siblings, Susan Jensen, Domonic Meo, Michael Meo and the late Vincent Meo.She was loved by many and will be missed by all. A Celebration of Life with be held on July 9, 2021 at the family residence.
