Mary Ima (Nonemaker) Badders, 85, of New Freedom, PA passed away peacefully at WellSpan York Hospital on Tuesday, February 25th. Mary was the beloved wife of 66 years to Clayton “Ted” Marshall Badders.
Mary was born August 24th, 1939, to the late Harvey Francis Nonemaker and Gladys Elizabeth (Swartz) Nonemaker.
Mary was a 1957 graduate of Susquehannock High School. As a teenager, she worked at Nardies Food Market. After graduating, she was secretary at Shrewsbury Manufacturing. Later she was co-owner of Badders and Thompson Drapery and Windows Co. She was an exceptional seamstress. Mary enjoyed gardening, canning, birdwatching, knitting, and crochet.
Mary was a devout member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she served as the Treasurer for many years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a sister, Linda Sue Henshaw, granddaughter Stephanie, her husband Jonathan Moore, great-grandson Austin, and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her son, Kevin Heath Badders and brother Larry F. Nonemaker.
Friends may call on Friday, March 7th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Trinity UMC, 101 N 2nd St, New Freedom, PA 17349. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 am, officiated by Rev. Samuel Velez. Interment will follow in New Freedom Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Mary’s memory to Trinity UMC.
