Mary J. Miller

Mary J. Miller, 95, of Shrewsbury, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at York Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Russell F. Miller who passed away in 2012. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 11am from Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom. Interment will take place in New Freedom Cemetery. Viewings will be held Friday evening from 6:30pm-8:30pm and on Saturday from 10am until the time of her service at the funeral home. Born in York she was a daughter of the late Howard H. and Mary Margaret (Hibner) Cramer. Mary was a graduate of Manchester High School in Manchester, MD and was a homemaker. She enjoyed reading, gardening, baking, crocheting and was a hard-working farmer’s wife. Mary was a very positive person and was lovingly known as “Momsie” by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Surviving are four children:, Janet L., wife of Calvin Cole, Sr., of Carlisle, Judith M., wife of Frank Holden of Palmetto, FL, Pamela Jo, wife of Michael Wilson of Freeland, MD. and R. Daniel Miller, husband of Wendyof Spring Grove; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; one sister Rae Catherine Batson of York. Mary was preceded in death by a daughter Patricia Ann Phillips, four brothers George, Edward, Charles and Robert and two sisters Beatrice and Anna. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2595 Interstate Dr. Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
