Mary Darlene Widener

Mary Darlene Widener, 84, of Shrewsbury, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2024 with her loving family surrounding her.  She was the wife of the late Bobby Widener Sr. who passed in 1997. Born in White Hall, MD, she was the daughter of the late John McKinley Baker and Bessie Marie (Openshaw) Baker.

Mary enjoyed being a homemaker all her life. She loved to cook, clean and watch WWE on Fridays. She also liked Bingo, fishing, watching movies, B&W cowboy shows and going to the racetrack.

She is survived by her four children Judy Channell, Connie Leese (David), Steven Widener (Kathy) and Bobby Widener, Jr. (Donna); seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and her sister Gladys Baker. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son-in-law Willard E. Channell.

A viewing will be held Friday, July 5, 2024 from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St. New Freedom, PA 17349. A Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Pine Grove United Methodist Cemetery, Parkton, MD.
