Maryellen Lazowski

MaryEllen Lazowski, 84, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, April 25, 2021 after a courageous battle with ALS. She was the loving wife of the late Henry A. Lazowski who passed in 1985. Born in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Herman C. Schertle Sr. and Margaret V. Schertle. Family was very important to MaryEllen, known to many as "Grandmom", and technology kept her connected to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling with family, including her trips to Hawaii. MaryEllen was a friend to all with a soft-spot for dogs, always displaying her easy-going approach to life and offering a smile to everyone. As much as she was loved, she will be greatly missed. Surviving are two children, Lee Tomlinson and his wife, Vicki of Omaha, NE, and Denise Baker and her husband, Rick of Stewartstown; 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Herman Schertle Jr. and his wife, Jakki of Houston, TX and 2 nieces. A service honoring Mary Ellen's life will be held at Parkwood Cemetery, 3310 Taylor Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 11:00 AM.In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Wounded Warrior Project.
