Maude Jeannette Michal

Maude “Jeannette” (Badders) Michal, 93, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Rest Haven Nursing Home in York, PA. She was the loving wife of 72 years to the late William W. Michal. Born in Freeland, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late William M. and Maude M. (Marshall) Badders.

Jeannette graduated from Sparks High School in 1947. She was a stay at home mother for several years before working at American Insulator in New Freedom, PA, for over 20 years. She began her career as a switch board operator and worked her way up to a Purchasing Agent. Jeannette enjoyed traveling, but was always happy to be home. She loved to cook and garden and spend time with the love of her life, Bill.

Jeannette is survived by her loving sons; William W. Michal, Jr. and wife, Linda, and Steven K. Michal; two grandsons, Shawn and Adam; one great grandson, Trey; brothers, Ted Marshall and wife, Mary, and Larry Badders; she was preceded in death by her husband, William, and brother, Melvin Badders.

Friends may call on Thursday, March 23 ^rd , from 10:00 am- 11:00 am at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 North Second St., New Freedom, PA, 17349. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 am, officiated by Rev. Melissa A. McDade. Interment will immediately follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, 19401 Middletown Rd., Parkton, MD  21120.
