Michael R. Dashiell

Michael R. Dashiell, 76, of Stewartstown, PA, passed from this life on Thursday, December 5, 2024. He was the loving husband of Karen E. (Young) Dashiell who passed on March 1, 2020. Born in Maryland, he was the son of the late Earle and Lois (Blocher) Dashiell.

His career began as an executive for The First National Bank of Maryland, and later as an executive and compliance officer at John Hancock Insurance Company. On behalf of a grateful Nation, Michael served in the United States National Guard.

During Mike’s retirement, there were endless hours working on “The Farm”, most times with one of his beloved dogs as his faithful sidekick. Reading was a favorite past time and he was known to get a kick out of a “Mad Magazine” occasionally. Mike liked cars and boats and even owned a motorcycle … for a day. Fortunately, Karen persuaded Dad that the bike was not the greatest decision. Mike had many friends whom he would entertain with. He definitely liked to have a good time!

Surviving are two children, Dawn Dashiell Oppenheim and her husband, Steve of Miramar, Florida, and Earle Stewart Dashiell and his wife, Melissa of Stewartstown and the late Michael R Dashiell Jr; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and two siblings, Lois Grobb, and Earle Dashiell and his wife, Anne.
