Michael Joseph Kearney

Michael Joseph Kearney, 74, of New Freedom died Friday, March 19, 2021 at home after a lengthy battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. He was the beloved husband of Beverly Lee (Clingan) Kearney to whom he celebrated 37 years of marriage June 18, 2020. Mike retired from Black & Decker, Hampstead, MD after 30 years of service. He also owned his own Sir Speedy Franchise in Hunt Valley, MD for over 10 years. He was a member of Bon Air Country Club for many years, and always said he looked forward to playing golf at the “golf club in the country”. He was an avid sports fan and golfer. Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters Ashley Kearney of New Freedom and Kelly Jones of Parkton, MD; two granddaughters Melissa and Amanda Jones both of Parkton, MD and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Stephen R. Kearney. At Michael’s request there will be no viewing. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at 11:30am from the New Freedom Cemetery with Pastor Jeffrey A. Slemp, Jr. officiating.
