Michael Francis Schmidt

Michael Francis Schmidt, 81, passed away on November 12, 2022. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland on December 16, 1940, to the late Andrew & Mary (Lorenz) Schmidt. Michael married Selma (Schneider) on June 18, 1960, they enjoyed 62 years of marriage.

Michael was a graduate of St. Martin’s High School in 1958. He worked for the Social Security Administration for over 30 years and was a realtor in Bel Air, Maryland. Michael was a member and past president of the Edelweiss Club in Baltimore, Maryland. He enjoyed all things Baltimore, including the Orioles, Colts, Ravens, beer, and crabs, but above all else he loved being with family.

Michael is survived by his loving wife Selma Schmidt; children Cindy Schmidt McCartin (Charles), Michael Schmidt (Agnetha); grandchildren, Jennifer Burns (Benjamin), Steve Schmidt (Danielle) Austin Schmidt, Brody Schmidt, Saga Herdeskoeld, and Emilia Herdeskoeld; great grandchildren, Gwendolyn and Waylon Schmidt; dear sibling, Edward Schmidt (Patricia); sister in law, Pidge Schmidt; he was preceded in death by his sister, Cindy Clayton and brother, Andrew Schmidt.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, November 17 ^th , from 2:00 pm- 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm -8:00 pm at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc. 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown, PA 17363. A funeral service will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday, November 18th, beginning at 10:00 am, interment will immediately follow in Gardens of Faith, 5598 Trumps Mill Rd. Baltimore, MD 21206.
