Myrl Leonard Shaeffer

Myrl Leonard “Butch” Shaeffer, 75, of Stuarts Draft, Virginia passed away on Monday, December 3rd, 2018 at Augusta Nursing and Rehab Center in Fishersville, VA. He was born in Stewartstown on August 16, 1943, to the late Myrl and Gladys (Bailey) Shaeffer. Butch graduated from Kennard-Dale High School then proudly served in the Army National Guard. He was the owner of Shaeffer’s Getty on Main Street in Stewartstown for many years.He was a member of the Stewartstown and Dallastown American Legions, the VFW in Stewartstown and was a manager of the Stewartstown American Legion and VFW Baseball teams. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Eva-Marie Shaeffer; three children, Kevin and his wife, Heather, John, and Lisa Myers; grandchildren, Bradley Topper, Selina Smith, Nicolas and Alyssa Robinson. Public viewing will be from 10am until a funeral service begins at 12pm on Friday, December 7, 2018 at Hartenstein Funeral and Cremation Care, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown.Interment will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, York.Rev. Melissa A. McDade will officiate.
