Nancy Blacklin

d. February 13, 2024

Nancy Anne Blacklin (nee White) passed away on February 13, 2024, at the age of 92 in Tarpon Springs, Florida. She was born on January 15, 1932, in Monessen, Pennsylvania to John and Frances White. The eldest of three children, Nancy enjoyed a caring upbringing with brother John and sister Frances.

Nancy was a vibrant individual who brought joy to those around her. She had a passion for various interests, ranging from the athletic to the artistic. From her days playing 3rd base for a girls’ softball team to her unwavering support for the Tampa Bay Rays, Nancy's love for baseball was front and center, which she conveyed to her sons in full measure. Her love for physical activity and the outdoors also found expression in dancing and in long walks on Clearwater beach.

Nancy was blessed with a talent and appreciation for the arts. Her home was filled with little testimonies to her personal creativity, including painting, drawing, and needlepoint. Her love of music was another complement to her artistic appreciation, and she had a particular fondness for jazz.

All these energies brought Nancy great joy, which she would share with any and all. Her infectious laugh and warm smile endeared her to many, and she was known for her caring and loving nature.

In her professional life, Nancy utilized her talents in both business and homemaking. Alongside her husband, Roy, she helped build a successful business specializing in crafted orthodontic devices. Nancy was the face of the business, engaging customers, suppliers, and others while balancing the responsibilities of her family.

Outside of work, Nancy enjoyed hobbies such as baseball, music, sewing, and keeping up with current events. She found fulfillment in these activities and shared her passions with those she loved.

Nancy is survived by her sons Scott Blacklin and Francis Blacklin, her daughters-in-law Elizabeth Blacklin and Jayne Blacklin, nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother John White of Stewartstown Pennsylvania, and sister Frances Henschen of Parkton Maryland.

She was preceded in death by her husband Leroy Blacklin and her son Thomas Andrew Blacklin.
