Nancy C. Fisher of Shrewsbury passed away on January 21st. She was born in Abingdon, Virginia, on February 5, 1939 to the late William and Anna (Boone) Lewis. Nancy was a 1957 graduate of Kennard-Dale High School.Nancy worked for various canning companies, the American Insulator and retired from AMP/TYCO electronics. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the American Legion in Parkton, Maryland and she was a member of the Women of the Moose. Nancy was a member of St. John Sadler’s Lutheran Church and loved her church family. She volunteered with Visiting Angels and loved to garden in her free time and stay connected with her Facebook friends.Nancy loved country and gospel music and she adored her cat, Pumpkin. Nancy is survived by her daughter Donna Tomek and her husband, James; 4 grandchildren, Chrissy Comer, Joshua Orwig, Shane Shearer and Michelle Howard; 12 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; she was preceded in death by her Son, Michael Ivan Orwig, infant grand-daughter, Jamie Lee Orwig and sister, Dorothy Vines. A viewing will be held on Saturday, January 29th, from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Cares, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, PA 17349.A funeral service will begin at 12:00 pm, with Pastor Ed Robbins officiating.Interment will immediately follow at St. John Sadler’s Cemetery, 2916 Sadler’s Church Road, Stewartstown.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the York County SPCA.
