Nancy May Watts was born in Baltimore on May 22, 1933 to Emmett G. Gaylor Sr. and Catherine May Merson.She was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, Girl Scout mother, Red Hat Lady, choir mother, AFS Host mother, sister, niece, Brownie mother, friend, Christian and most importantly, wife of her beloved David Earl Watts for 54 years, who predeceased her in 2004. Nancy wore many hats in her early career; Kindergarten teacher at Milford Mill UM Church, secretary to a Baltimore real estate practice, President of the New Freedom Lioness Club, member of the United Methodist Women at Spring Hill UM Church, volunteer at Spring Hill Regional Hospital, and as a caregiver to her mother, mother and father in-law, uncle, father and several friends. Nancy passed away peacefully at her daughter Janet’s home in New Port Richey on Sunday, October 18th, surrounded by those who love her. Nancy leaves behind one step-brother, Emmett Gaylor Jr, and her 4 loving daughters, Karen Becker of Bel Air, MD, Susan Rittmeyer of Westminster, MD, Linda Castello of Weeki Wachee, FL and Janet Sack of New Port Richey, FL.She also leaves 2 sons-in-law, her 6 beloved grandchildren:Sarah, Bryan, David, Katie, Emily and Elizabeth, and one great-granddaughter, Jo-Jo. Due to the COVID pandemic, funeral plans are private and have been arranged with Hartenstein Funeral and Cremation Care, Inc. www.Hartensteincares.com. Nancy will be interred next to her husband, David, at Druid Ridge Cemetery in Baltimore, MD.Interment will be private. In Lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to HPH Hospice, 12107 Majestic Blvd. Hudson,FL 34667 (www.chaptershealth.org)or The Salvation Army at https://give.salvationarmyusa.org. The family plans to have a celebration of Nancy’s life next year in Florida when the COVID pandemic permits.
