Patricia Del Biondo (Nigro)

Patricia (Nigro) Del Biondo, 70, passed away into the care of Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, September 28, 2016, from the comfort of her home. She was the loving wife of William J. Del Biondo and they celebrated fifty years of marriage in June 2016. A viewing will be held from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm Monday, October 3, 2016, at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, with a vigil service starting at 5:30 pm. A funeral liturgy will be held at 11 am, Tuesday, October 4, 2016, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 315 N. Constitution Ave., New Freedom, PA with Rev. Robert A. Yohe, Jr. presiding. A memorial luncheon will follow in Neumann Hall. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family at a later date. Born December 26, 1945, in Altoona, Patricia was the daughter of the late Eugene and Cecelia (Montrella) Nigro. Patricia graduated from Altoona High School in 1963. She was employed as a teacher’s assistant at the York County School of Technology for 14 years and retired in 2009. She most loved to spend time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She courageously fought through many heart-related ailments for the last 15 years. Patricia was a woman with a strong faith in God and never wavered throughout her entire crusade. Surviving Patricia, in addition to her husband, are three children: Joseph Del Biondo, and his wife Elizabeth of Cicero, NY, Michael Del Biondo, and his wife Theresa of York, and Anthony Del Biondo, and his wife Alex of Indianapolis, IN; six grandchildren: Jaelyn, Kenley, Ryleigh, Reid, Liana, and Giovanna; and three sisters: Carol DeNisi of Wexford, Joanne Gordon of Altoona, and Barbara Beecher of Martinsburg. Patricia was led to support the National Shrine of St. Jude, 3200 E. 91st St., Chicago, IL, 60617 (www.shrineofstjude.org) and the American Heart Association, 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA, 17603. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to either cause by mail or online. Please omit flowers.
