Patricia D. Jefferies

Patricia Darlene “Patty” Jefferies, 76, of New Freedom passed away surrounded by her family on December 17, 2021. She was born on December 18, 1944 to the late Paul E. and Ruth H. (Beatty) Doster. Patty was a lifelong resident of New Freedom and member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She served in the church nursery from 1972-1986. She was a member of St. John Jewels for over 10 years, a member of AARP, South Central Senior Center, and a life member of Ladies Auxiliary V.F.W. Post 7012, New Freedom. She also was a member of PARSE (Penna. Association of Retired State Employees). Patty retired in 1999 from the Dept. of Labor & Industries after 30 years of service. She then worked for Maryland Financial Services in Shrewsbury for 5 years. Next to her love of family came her love and care of animals. Patty is survived by her two daughters: JoAnn D. Patterson of New Freedom and Lori J. Dubbs – Nissel and her husband, Brian of New Freedom; six grandchildren, Katelynn and her fiancé Brooks Gooch of Lebanon, TN, Sierra, Mara, Emma, Jacob Patterson and Chase Nissel, all of New Freedom; she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Eric B. Patterson. A public viewing will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2021 from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second Street, New Freedom, PA 17349. A funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm on Thursday, at the funeral home, with interment immediately following in New Freedom Cemetery. The family requests friends and family to wear masks.
