Patsy Lee "Pat" Miller (Creakman)

June 29, 1951 — November 27, 2016

After a two year battle with cancer, Patsy “Pat” Lee Miller, 65, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, November 27, 2016, with her beloved husband and children by her side at her home in Fawn Grove. Visitations will be held 7 pm to 9 pm on Friday, December 2, at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown, and Saturday, December 3, 10 am to 11 am at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, 786 Mt. Olivet Church Rd., Fawn Grove. A Celebration of Life Service will follow the visitation at 11 am on Saturday, December 3, at the church with Pastor Beth Holz and Pastor Dennis McCleary officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Pat was born on June 29, 1951, in Brogue, and was the daughter of the late Eugene R. and Beulah M. Creakman. She graduated in 1969 from Red Lion Area High School and immediately began employment with the Department of Transportation in Harrisburg. In 1977, she decided to be a stay-at-home mom to her beautiful children until 1998, when she began employment with her husband’s business, Miller’s Plumbing, Heating and Electric, in Fawn Grove, from which she retired in 2013. Pat was a member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church for over 30 years and served on various committees at the church. Pat loved the oasis she created in her backyard, and found peace working with her pool and flowers during her battle with cancer. She also loved going to the beach to hear the ocean waves with “her feet in the sand and a drink in her hand.” Pat and John took the family to the Bahamas in February 2015 after successfully completing her first round of chemotherapy. She often said that the vacation was a trip of a lifetime, as many wonderful memories were created. Pat also enjoyed bringing both sides of the family together by hosting holiday dinners and cookouts, at which everybody would swim in her pool or fish in the pond on the family farm. She loved to entertain. Once diagnosed with cancer, Pat never gave up. Even through countless chemotherapy sessions and surgeries, she continued to go about her daily routine until she was too weak to do so. She was an inspiration to many, and was truly loved by her family. She will be greatly missed. Pat leaves behind her wonderful husband of 39 years, John Miller, and four amazing children and their spouses, Tisha Lehr, Shawna Mueller and her husband, Pete, Cherish Schwartz and her husband, Chad, and Cody Miller and his wife, Lindsay. She also leaves behind seven beautiful grandchildren, Cassi Lehr, Dustin Ewell, Landon, Grace and Audriana Miller, Joseph Mueller and Sofia Schwartz. She is survived by two brothers, Eugene Creakman and Donald Creakman; and a sister, Judy Runkle; as well as several nieces and nephews. Pat would like to thank her family and friends for all the love, prayers and support that gave her the strength to go on and continue life the best she knew how. She would also like to thank Cancer Care Associates of York, Hospice & Community Care, and her personal care physician for the care she received during these past two years. Memorial contributions can be made to Mt. Olivet Cemetery Association, 665 Mill Street, Fawn Grove, PA 17321; Hospice and Community Care, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604; or H.O.P.E., PO Box 175, Shrewsbury, PA 17361.
